We are seeking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Handyperson to deliver high quality gardening and maintenance services across our Aged Care Centres and Retirement Villages.  Reporting to the Facilities Management Team Leader, you will perform general garden maintenance tasks within the Illawarra and Sydney regions.

 

This role is extremely diverse, with the successful candidate attending to a variety of maintenance activities to support the needs and interests of our residents and clients.  

 

The role of the Maintenance Handyperson includes, but is not limited to:

  • Plant selection and planting
  • General plant and lawn care
  • Removal of leaves, pruning and weeding
  • Application of fertilizers and mulches
  • Window and roof cleaning
  • Safe and correct use of all equipment


To be successful you will have:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
  • A demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety
  • A Demonstrated experience in a general maintenance or gardening 
  • An unrestricted current drivers licence and the ability to travel to other IRT sites in the Illawarra area as required
  • The ability to work flexible hours working a rotating roster and to answer to after hour emergency call outs when required
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to use technology such as smart devices and computers
