About the Role

As a Bus Driver, you’ll play a key role in opening up opportunities for our residents to access opportunities to experience new connections, enjoy social activities and reduce incidences of isolation. 

 

We have a casual position with the successful candidate willing to work between our Macarthur and Berala sites and sometimes across our Peakhurst, Kirrawee and Sans Souci sites. This would suit someone who is semi retired or willing to work with IRT on a casual basis where shifts may not always be guaranteed, in some cases for a few weeks or months, and be willing to cover long term leave and unplanned leave.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Pick up and drop off our elderly residents from various locations while providing assistance with access and egress from the bus as required
  • Review suitable venues in the community that meet the needs of our elderly residents
  • You will also be responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle. This is an extremely rewarding role contributing to the activity offerings for residents to enhance their life, sense of security, companionship, fun and relaxation.

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Previous experience driving passenger vehicles 
  • A current Light Rigid (LR/MR) Licence 
  • A current First Aid certificate (Or willingness to obtain)
  • The ability to work across two days 
  • A willingness to work flexible hours to coordinate/attend after hours events
  • Experience working with elderly clients is desirable
