IRT Macarthur is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and experienced Lifestyle Officer/ Bus Driver with relevant experience to join the dynamic care team. 


As the successful candidate, you’ll pick up and drop off our residents from various locations while providing assistance with access and egress from the bus as required. You will also be responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle. This is an extremely rewarding role contributing to the activity offerings for residents to enhance their life, sense of security, companionship, fun and relaxation.

About the role:


As a Lifestyle Officer, you will: 

  • Assist in the evaluation, design and delivery of enjoyable lifestyle programs 
  • Offer experiences that support the emotional well-being of the residents
  • Support the individual assessment of residents lifestyle needs whilst maintaining resident independence
  • Liaise with external services and providers
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of lifestyle activities 


As a Bus Driver, you will:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Previous experience driving passenger vehicles 
  • A current Light Rigid (LR/MR) Licence 
  • A current First Aid certificate
  • The ability to work a variety of shifts 
  • A willingness to work flexible hours to coordinate/attend after hours events
  • Experience working with elderly clients is desirable


To be successful you will have: 

  • A qualification in an appropriate field such as Certificate IV in Leisure and Health  and/or relevant experience
  • An understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards 
  • Initiative and creative flair
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology including Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work as part of a team and be able to prioritise work to meet deadlines
