About the Role

We are looking for kind-hearted and empathetic Home Care Employee/Transport Driver employees in the Illawarra South area.  As a Home Care Employee/ Transport Driver, you’ll help support our clients to maintain their independence and help them to get to their appointments and daily outings as well as provide personal care/medication administration according to the customer’s care plan. This role would suit a certifified and experienced Home Care Employee that is looking to semi-retire but still do some casual work.


For this role, we are looking for:

  • Home Care Employee – Grade 4B - Located in the South Illawarra area.
  • Certificate III in Ageing is needed with an accredited Medication Competency Certificate & at least 500 hours experience in Home care and/or Aged care
  • Monday – Friday. Hours vary between 7am - 6pm.
  • This is a casual opportunity.


Duties can include:


-    Personal care/showering
-    Medication assistance
-    Transports to Appointments and social engagements
-    Providing Companionship
-    Assistance to IRT customers to continue to live well and positively in their own home

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Full Driver's licence and a fully insured car (If you have an international licence – we ask that you apply for an Australian licence within 3 months of working with IRT)
  • Relevant Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent 
  • An accredited Medication Competency Certificate
  • At least 500 hours of professional Home Care/ Aged care experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – A Second Language is a bonus!
  • Resilience and ability to work independently
  • Available to work weekdays
  • A big heart, empathy and a passion for supporting older Australians
