About the Role
We're looking for compassionate and experienced Aged care employees with Medication Administration competency to join our dedicated Residential Aged Care team at Meridan Plains, QLD.
In this role, you'll provide person-centred care and support while ensuring medications are administered safely, accurately and in line with resident care plans. You'll help residents maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life, while working closely with nurses and the wider care team.
To support our residents' care needs, we're looking for care employees who are flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including morning and afternoon across the week. Flexibility to work across different shift types is essential for this role.
You’ll take the time to understand each resident’s needs, preferences and routines, while working closely with nurses and the wider care team to deliver safe, consistent and respectful care. It’s a role where attention to detail, kindness and teamwork make a real difference every day.
How you’ll make a difference
- Safely administer medications in accordance with policies, procedures and resident care plans
- Support residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting in a way that respects their dignity, preferences and routines
- Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects and changes in wellbeing
- Maintain accurate documentation and medication records so care is consistent and reliable
- Assist with mobility, transfers and daily living activities
- Provide mealtime support and encourage good nutrition and hydration
- Build meaningful connections through social interaction and engagement
- Work collaboratively with nurses and the wider care team to provide safe, connected care
- Contribute to a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where residents feel respected and at home
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Certificate IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or equivalent is must
- Current Medication Administration competency and experience administering medications within an aged care environment
- Previous experience working in residential aged care
- A genuine passion for supporting older people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
- Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
