About the Role

Join the caring team at IRT Woodlands, Meridan Plains QLD, where you will build meaningful relationships with residents and provide the practical, personal and emotional support that helps them feel safe, respected and at home. 

 

As an aged care employee, you'll take the time to understand each resident's needs, preferences and routines, while working closely with nurses and the wider care team to deliver consistent, respectful care. It’s a role where small moments of kindness, reliability and teamwork make a real difference every day. 

To support our residents' care needs, we're looking for care employees who are flexible and available to work part time a variety of shifts, including morning, afternoon and night across the week. Flexibility to work across different shift types is essential for this role.


How you’ll make a difference 

  • Support residents with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting in a way that respects their dignity, preferences and routines 
  • Assist with mobility, transfers and repositioning 
  • Provide mealtime assistance and supporting nutrition and hydration 
  • Build connections through conversation, activities and social engagement 
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and reporting changes promptly, helping us do the right thing for each person’s care to nursing staff 
  • Complete care records and documentation accurately and consistently 
  • Work closely with nurses and the wider care team to provide reliable, connected support 
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where residents feel respected and at home 

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent — or currently studying towards it 
  • Experience in aged care or a similar care environment (desirable but not essential)  
  • A genuine passion for supporting older people  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays  
  • Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
