About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and caring people, with a genuine interest in a career in aged care, for multiple, part-time traineeship opportunities with IRT. This position is available in our Aged Care Centre at IRT Sarah Claydon.

 

This exciting program is for a minimum of 24 months, and includes undertaking a Certificate III Individual Support, delivered by ITeC Academy, whilst gaining on-the-job experience and secure employment in a rapidly growing industry.

To Be Successful You Will Have

 

  • A commitment to undertaking the Certificate III in Individual support qualification
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week (combination of work and study), availability Tuesday as this is an allocated study day
  • A big heart – you’re empathetic, adaptable and have a passion for supporting older Australians to live their best life possible
  • A passion to begin your career in the aged care sector 
  • Flexibility and availability to work shifts that include weekends, late afternoons and evenings

 

To be eligible for a traineeship candidates must:

  • Be living or working in NSW
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
  • Must not have already completed or started studying a Certificate III in Individual Support or similar (higher qualifications in a like role such as Certificate IV or Bachelor make you not eligible for this traineeship)
  • Have basic internet knowledge and ready access to the internet
  • Be able to use a computer and have basic digital literacy skills
  • Have basic reading and writing skills to answer assessment questions
  • Own a computer/device to be able to complete course requirements
