We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join the IRT Eurobodalla Aged Care Centre in a dual role of Senior Clinical Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator to provide leadership, advice and education to the Aged Care Centres Team. This role will report to the Business Manager and will work across IRT Aged Care Centres in the Eurobodalla region.

This role will work 3 days as a Senior Clinical Manager, and 2 days as a Clinical Nurse Educator.
As a Senior Clinical Manager, you will: 

  • Provide leadership, advice and support to the Aged Care Centres operational leadership teams in effective clinical governance and practice
  • Ensure all work is performed within a legislative and ethical framework to provide high quality service delivery supporting the rights and interests of seniors
  • Provide expert aged care nursing advice to Aged Care Centres within the dedicated region
  • Review external authorities, accreditation and clinical outcomes and/or complaints to achieve process improvements and to review clinical practice
  • Investigate and report on clinical incidents and/or complaints related to clinical issues
  • Champion IRT values and the benefits of continuous learning and professional development to all IRT employees


As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will: 


  • Identifying solutions and opportunities for improvement in relation to training and learning requirements across all IRT Care and IRT at Home Business Divisions 
  • Effective planning, implementation and facilitation of education programs 
  • Supporting the educational and operational service needs within the L&D framework
  • Delivering specialist education and support to IRT workforce  
  • Working collaboratively with a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical employees 
  • Participating in the research and evaluation of programs and resources to integrate professional nursing experience and knowledge, currency of information and ensure alignment with best practice 

To be successful you will have:

  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior position delivering care services to seniors (eg Care Manager, Care Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner or similar)
  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain
  • Completed, or be willing to obtain, ACIPC Foundations of Infection Control 
  • Broad knowledge, demonstrated expertise and substantial experience in clinical care and clinical governance
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in the aged care sector including accreditation standards, legislation and regulation
  • Demonstrated successful experience as a Nurse Educator/ Clinical Facilitator  
  • A current First Aid Certificate or a willingness to obtain 
  • Current valid driver’s license
