About the Role

As an Aged Care Employee (ACE) – Wellbeing Services, you will play a vital role in helping our residents find meaning and purpose through activities that foster connection, enjoyment, and relaxation.

Your compassionate care will create opportunities for residents to engage in experiences that enhance their wellbeing and overall quality of life, making a truly positive impact. This is an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling role—and it’s a lot of fun too!

 

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team at IRT Crown Gardens in Batemans Bay and Moruya.


Position Details:
•    Permanent, Part-Time role
•    Minimum 18–24 hours per week, with shifts as follows:
             Week 1: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
             Week 2: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

 

Your work may include:

  • Assist in delivering a variety of activity programs for residents, including group and individual activities, tailored to meet the needs of residents with dementia or other special requirements
  • Support special Wellbeing Services events, such as Christmas, Mother’s/Father’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and more.
  • Help assess and evaluate activities and programs, as required.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities for residents.
  • Accompany residents on bus trips and community outings.
  • Provide companionship and support to encourage resident participation.
  • Ensure that residents' needs, values, spiritual beliefs, and cultural preferences are respected and incorporated
  • Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate person in charge.
  • Update resident records as necessary (e.g., Activity Record).
    Follow manual handling procedures and ensure the correct use of equipment in line with relevant policies.

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Willingness to work towards a Certificate IV Leisure and Lifestyle  
  • Certificate III in Aged Care or recognised equivalent and competencies have been verified and approved by the delegated officer.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Initiative and creative flair
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and prioritise work 
  • The ability to put a smile on a residents face and brighten their day
  • A big heart – you’re empathetic and have a passion for supporting older Australians to live their best life possible
  • Knowledge of the needs of persons living with dementia (desirable)
