About the opportunity
We are looking for a friendly bus driver and/or outings assistance to volunteer as a Community Access Volunteer within our IRT Aged Care Centres across the Shoalhaven region (multiple locations available).
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to schedule/timetable; pick up residents from various locations, provide assistance with access with loading/unloading including walking aids, groceries and other items in a safe manner
- As a bus driver, you will perform basic maintenance checks such as check tyre pressure, oil and water levels as per a vehicle pre-start checklist and comply with safe procedures
- As an outings assistant, you will assist with ordering and provision of food and drink and required and provide social support through friendly chats
We’re looking for volunteers who:
- Are warm, caring, compassionate and are team players
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Bus drivers will require experience driving passenger vehicles, and a valid MR or HR Drivers license
- Current first aid certificate or willingness to obtain
