About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Wellbeing Consultant to join skilled WHS team, providing specialist health, safety, and wellbeing advice.

 

This full-time hybrid role is responsible for working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide occupational rehabilitation advice and services to drive early intervention and coordinate return to work outcomes. The successful applicant will be able to provide onsite services to our people located in NSW with remote support for ACT and QLD. 

 

You will drive early intervention and coordinate the relevant assessments and plans to assist our people with work-related injuries and personal medical conditions. This role works closely with managers at all levels to identify and develop strategies to facilitate successful return to work outcomes, prevent injury recurrence and promote a positive culture of health and wellbeing at IRT. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrated injury and claims management skills including complex and advanced return to work case management 
  • Coordinate early intervention services to support recovery at work 
  • Conduct onsite physical/functional and worksite assessments to develop return to work pathways 
  • Analyse and interpret clinical information to support recovery and return to work outcomes Communicate with treatment providers including treating doctors, allied health professionals (physical and psychological) to facilitate recovery and return to work 
  • Maintain injury management notes and records in a secure and confidential manner 
  • Contribute to our Safer Workplace Projects including delivering training on claims management, rehabilitation, return to work, safety and wellbeing

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Tertiary qualifications as an Occupational Therapist, Health Professional or similar. Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in Ergonomics, Health or similar.
  • 5-8+ years’ experience workplace-based rehabilitation and assessment
  • Extensive experience in recovery-at-work planning and coordination
  • Skilled in workers compensation claims and injury management
  • High level facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation and guidelines and workers compensation legislation (NSW, ACT & QLD) 
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating wellbeing programs
  • Current driver’s licence
